WORLDWIDE FRIENDS OF KUMBESHWAR KIDS MEMBERSHIP 

Free education and a stable, caring environment are the rights of children worldwide. Their personalities and abilities can then be nurtured and encouraged. The KTS Nursery, Primary School, orphanage and day-care centre have all evolved from these intrinsic rights.

Building on the foundation of an all-round education, KTS also focuses on the importance of extra-curricular activities for the physical, mental and social development of its students. The
children are encouraged to integrate across the community through a programme of cultural events, quiz contests, spelling competitions and a children’s club. These activities endorse the KTS belief that there should be equal opportunities for all, regardless of background or circumstances. The Worldwide Friends of Kumbeshwar Kids (WFKK) membership subscriptions help to fund the education programme and extra-curricular activities. Your support directly helps the children and enables KTS to carry on with this vital work.

Over 200 children attend the free KTS Nursery and Primary School. These are kids from the local community; children of street sweepers, rickshaw drivers, daily labourers and small shopkeepers. They are low-caste, impoverished and underprivileged. These children benefit from an education their parents never had and your support goes directly towards helping the KTS School provide a quality education to the children of a community that had previously believed such opportunities were only for the wealthy and privileged.

The KTS orphanage provides a home and education for up to 20 children who have been abandoned or come from a broken home. They appear from the streets, prison, half-way houses or violent homes. They arrive malnourished, unloved and bewildered. At KTS, they find a stable, friendly and supportive environment where they learn what it means to be part of a family that cares about them. Your subscription directly supports their education and allows the children to enjoy some necessities other children are able to take for granted.

The KTS day-care centre provides a safe, caring environment for the very young children of KTS staff and producers who have no one else to look after them. In a light, colourful room, the children enjoy playing and learning with qualified staff, while their mothers earn a living or learn new skills which will provide an income for their future. Your support provides toys, books, food and care for these young Kids of Kumbeshwar.

Full Membership (FM)  US$ 125

Full members receive a membership card, the KTS Annual Report, a calendar designed each year by the orphanage children printed on hand-made Nepali paper, a small Christmas gift also made by the children in the orphanage and 10% discount on KTS knitwear and furniture.

Junior Membership (JM)  US$ 25

Children under the age of 15 can join at this reduced rate. Benefits include a membership card, the orphanage calendar and a Christmas gift. You will also become a pen pal with one of the children in the orphanage.

Local Membership (LM)  NPR 1,500

Members living in Nepal have the same benefits as Full Members and also receive invitations to school events, KTS cultural programmes and exhibitions.
