our Production Unit

KTS now has over 2300 producers, benefiting over 4,000 family and local community members.

We provide job opportunities for graduates of the vocational training programmes, which enables the organisation to be self-sustaining through the sale of KTS products. KTS is a founder member of Fair Trade Nepal and this partnership creates the opportunity to promote its products through publicity, marketing and buyer introductions. We sell our Fair Trade products throughout the world and are proud to be at the forefront of Fair Trade business in Nepal.

Working with its own designers and buyers’ designers from overseas, KTS is constantly working to create new, up-to-date products that also reflect the culture and heritage of Nepal.

KTS runs a feedback and quality control programme in conjunction with all its buyers to ensure that the quality of its products continues to meet the high standards required. The close working relationship KTS has with all its buyers is of enormous importance to the organisation.

The KTS producers receive a wide-ranging package of benefits, including a steady income, health care and insurance and low-interest loans. KTS also provides free primary education to all producers’ children who live locally and sponsors higher secondary schooling for families unable to afford further education for their children.
