Health Camp to mark the World Fair Trade day was a grand success. 287 people from Patan, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur took full advantage of the health camp on 20 June 2015, Saturday (Postponed from 9 May 2015 due to earthquake). Health camp was organised in association with Nepal Eye Hospital supported by Kumbeshwar Trading Centre.
Many of the knitwear and carpet producers, students, staff and local community people totalling to 240 people took advantage of the eye camp and had their eyes checked. 15 people were found to have cataract and were taken to Nepal Eye Hospital, Tripureshwor for admission on the same day. Two of them were returned without surgery due to their medical conditions. 13 people had a successful cataract surgery on Sunday, 21 June whole of the operation and hospital expenses are sponsored by Kumbeshwar Trading Centre. 130 people were advised for further check-up for spectacles. The spectacles will also be sponsored by Kumbeshwar Trading Centre.
Consultant Ophthalmologist Dr. Pratikshya Amatya, Ophthatmic Assistant Ms. Yangla Dongla Sherpa and Assistant Shiva Hari Raya from Nepal Eye Hospital conducted the eye camp.
Cataract Surgery Patients:
47 women benefited from the women’s health camp where Senior Gynecologist Dr. Mrs. Sushila Shrestha lead the health camp supported by Dr. Biloni Shrestha (Vaidya). Dr. Rakshya Joshi and Dr. Manjita Niraula. Staff Nurse Ms. Sharmila Maharjan, Ms. Asmita K. C., Ms. Junu Lama, Lab Technician Mr. Laxmi Prasad Bhandari, T.H.P. Mr. Abhishek Khadgi, Kiran Khadgi, Mr. Roshan Amatya and Mr. Raju Maharjan also assisted in the health camp.
KTS Executive Member Mr. Deepak Kumar Khadgi, Mr. Satyendra Khadgi, KTS teachers and staff’s volunteered in the camp.
