We are pleased to inform you that we have celebrated Kumbeshwar Technical School’s 28th Anniversary with various programmes on 18 October 2015.
On the occasion, Chief Guest Former State Minister of Commerce and Supply Hon’ble Mr. Giri Bahadur KC inaugurated the programme and distributed prizes to top students in the primary school, Certificates of Achievement to Hand Knitting and Carpet Weaving trainees. While delivering the inaugural speech as a chief guest, Former State Mminister of Commerce and Supply Hon’ble Mr. Giri Bahadur KC said, “Activities of Kumbeshwar Technical School giving primary education to the children from the poor and backward families, providing vocational training on hand knitting and carpet weaving to their parents and family members and also extending job opportunities to them are praiseworthy. These works are very important for the developing countries for speedy growth”.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Siddhi Bahadur Khadgi, Founder Chair of the school. On the occasion founder chairman inaugurated school’s 5th new building. The building is going to be used for orphan home where 20 children accommodate. The Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Italy funded Euro 20,000 for the building construction and rest of the fund arranged by the school’s internal loan. Total cost of the building was NPR 9,514,130 ( Euro 95,141.00).
On the occasion Mr. Kiran Bahadur Khadgi, Director of KTS presented progress report of the school and said, “In the 071/072 fiscal year, 190 boys and girls are getting free nursery and primary education, 83 trainees completed the training in Hand knitting, carpet weaving and carpentry at KTS. 78 full time staff, 2 interns, 32 women and 1 man in-house producers and 2172 home based producers including 13 physically challenged are employed. Approximately 12 thousand relatives of the producers and students are receiving benefits from KTS. In the fiscal year 2071/072, the sales revenue stood as Rs. 57,805,599 from knitwear products, Rs. 40,16,284 from carpet and Rs 460,129 from furniture. We paid Rs.750,000 as Income Tax and Rs. 664,750 as TDS, interest tax to the Nepal Government.
On the occasion Mr. Khadgi said that KTS has decided to grant financial support to the earthquake affected staffs and producers. On the Occasion Mr. Khadgi thanked Fair Trade Company Japan, People Tree UK, SERRV Self Help International USA, World find USA, Global Girl Friend USA, Consorzio CTM Altromercato Italia, Ten Thousand Villages Canada, Ten Thousand Villages USA, El Puente Germany, Commologmo UK, Fair Trade Company Korea, Atelier Sukha The Netherlands, Zilalila The Netherlands, Twine Taiwan and all Fair Trade organizations who are cooperating for marketing KTS products in international market.
Ms. Karuna Khadgi delivered welcome speech on the occasion.
KTS primary school students performed cultural programme after inauguration session. Diplomats, social workers, students’ guardians, well-wishers and local community people were present in the programme.
